внебиржевой рынок ценных бумаг
Рынок, на котором акции продаются и покупаются вне пределов юрисдикции признанных фондовых бирж. Этот термин впервые появился в 1870-х гг. как название практики покупки акций у банковских стоек в США. Внебиржевые рынки ценных бумаг характеризовались более низким уровнем защиты интересов инвесторов, однако со временем деятельность их стала более упорядоченной. Крупнейшим в мире внебиржевым рынком ценных бумаг является Система автоматической котировки Национальной ассоциации биржевых дилеров (NASDAQ) в США. В Великобритании внебиржевой рынок ценных бумаг считался более чем ненадежным; он полностью перестал существовать после создания в 1987 г. Лондонской фондовой биржей третьего рынка (third market), характеризовавшегося минимальными требованиями для выхода на него. В свою очередь и этот рынок был закрыт, когда в 1990 г. были введены менее строгие требования на рынке некотируемых ценных бумаг (unlisted securities market (USM)).
